one free consultation
- a two-hour class for couples who do not want a doula but instead the non-birthing parent wants to be more informed and capable
- includes:
- how to create a birth plan and your options
- basic labor information
- when to know you are going into labor
- managing labor pain, fear, and stress
- couple intimacy during early labor
- massage techniques
- counterpressure
- meditations and affirmations to work on together
- partner self-care
- establishing partner as the 2nd most important person in the room
Note: Payment plans are available and often much easier for parents than paying one lump sum. We can discuss this option if you're interested! I require a one-time $50 travel fee for gas if you live outside of Utah County.
A Note for Queer Parents: Often in more obvious way than cis-gender, heterosexual parents, 2SLGBTQIA+ parents bring their identities to the forefront of their pregnancy, birth, and healing experience. You deserve to have your needs taken into account too, even though they may be beyond the norm. Some areas I feel comfortable supporting parents with include:
- gender dysphoria that non-binary and trans-masculine parents may experience throughout their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum including the physical changes they encounter and how they’re viewed by many in the birth world
- lesbian parents being misgendered or left-out because their presence is untraditional
- bisexual parents feeling unseen in their hetersexual-passing seemingly-cisgender relationships
- The onslaught from too many people with questions or comments that are certainly nobody’s business e.g. “How did this baby really get here?”
