Hello and welcome; I'm so glad you're here! I'm a former high school English teacher and yoga instructor and current toddler mom and birth doula. I grew up here in Utah in Pleasant Grove and attended UVU and UofU for my Bachelor's Degree. I taught high school English and Yearbook in Utah County for five years before leaving to become a stay-at-home mom and pursue birth work/the path to being a doula. I will remember every single student I had; they all touched my heart and I learned so much from them. It was in teaching that I realized how much I love helping and supporting others to see their full potential.
I realized my passion for birth and postpartum advocacy after having my first child, Theo. I had a difficult pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum even with a wonderful doula and an incredible partner (Brady, my cute husband). Even though it was difficult and my labor and Theo's birth did not go according to plan, it forever changed who I am and was hands down the most empowering experience of my life and of our marriage. I also began connecting with fellow moms on social media via TikTok and Instagram and realized the insane numbers of women who experience birth and postpartum trauma. After hearing thousands of women and their stories, I knew that in-person doula work was the next step for me.
If you found me because of social media or just stumbled here, I'm so glad! I know that the level of satisfaction a Mom feels about her journey into motherhood will be one that impacts her postpartum depression and anxiety, her relationships with everyone in her life, and her confidence in herself. It matters immensely that a Mom has the support she wants and needs as she deals with the wildly challenging experience of bringing life here.
I differ from many doulas in that one of my goals (and why the Daddy Doula training is included when you hire me as your doula) is to support Dad so he can support Mom. Nobody knows Mom better than Dad and he is the second most important person in the room. I love helping Dad feel confident and equipped to be Mom's advocate and birth partner. The way labor and birth can bring a couple together is so beautiful. For Moms, facing yourself in "labor land" will change you for the better and I would love to help you get there. Birthing a baby is a magical thing but birthing yourself as a Mother is unmatched. On the other hand, if you are alone and need support, you have all that you need and more in me. I am LGBTQ+ informed and welcome diverse families. If you think I would be a good match for you and your family, head to the "Contact Me" tab to set up a free consultation.
